About Healing While Black

In recognition of National BIPOC Mental Health Month (July), The Well for Life is proceeding with our 4th Annual Summit – Healing While Black: We are The 1 in a hybrid formatThrough this deeply impactful 3-day experience, attendees can engage in critical dialogue (research & reflective experiences), healing centered practice, and spiritual and cultural wellness practices.

Day 1: Professional and Community Development

During this virtual portion of the summit, participants will be able to engage in critical dialogue surrounding a range of topics related to the theory and practice of collectively Healing While Black with community members, practitioners, facilitators, and contributors with diverse professional and personal experiences.

Day 2: The Deconstructed Series

The Deconstructed Series is about the practical application of Friday’s learning. Melanin and Movement offers the space to engage in the practice of healing through movement. In the afternoon, the conversation continues through reflective dialogue in events such as Textured Conversations, Brown Girl Brunch, and Brothers & BBQ

Day 3: Celebration of Cultural identity and Spiritual Renewal

On Sunday, participants will engage in continued conversations and practices related to healing and wellness through the lens of spiritual and cultural connections. Some of the Day 3 offerings include a reflective photo walk, a sound bath, painting in the park, and a Community Arts Festival to conclude the summit!
