St. Petersburg Community

Support HUBS

Holistic, Urgent, and Braving Support

We are thrilled to share that we are entering the next phase of our collective journey — building The St. Petersburg Social Support HUBS!  As part of the City of St. Pete's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) investment plan, a series of Community Support Hubs (Hubs) will be established in areas of need across St. Pete. We invite you all to join us in celebrating this significant milestone. Your continued support and belief in this vision have brought us to this exciting stage.

What are the Community Support HUBS?

HUBS stands for Holistic, Urgent, and Braving Support (HUBs). The HUBS will provide trauma-informed counseling and wellness services, case management, neighborhood outreach, and additional services based on the needs of our community. As we enter this new phase, we are more excited than ever. The HUB is not just a physical entity; it embodies our shared goals and dreams. It will serve as access points throughout our community, providing places where our neighbors can receive support, share ideas, build relationships, and amplify our collective impact.

We invite you to continue your journey with us — to continue listening, engaging, and shaping the course of our community through The HUBS. Your story and voices matter, your experiences are crucial, and your participation is invaluable. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to our St. Petersburg Family. Let's come together to celebrate, connect, and continue the incredible work we are doing.

Our stories matter.

Why the HUBS?

  1. Everyone wants to LIVE WELL. We all desire to feel safe, affirmed, and worthy. When we experience harm, we all want time and respect as we recover and make meaning of our experience. Our stories and experiences matter.

  2. Strategies rooted in strength work! They allow our dignity, ingenuity and creativity to be affirmed as valuable; inviting our eager and proud participation.

  3. Our lived experience, especially experiences of navigating marginalized existences, contains strength, strategy and resolve to support safety and well-being. Those who have lived experience are essential champions. They are needed to inform, influence, and lead safety, recovery and well-being initiatives.

  4. Investing in the right people, places, and strategies is fiscally, socially and morally sound. It cuts wasteful spending on policies and practices that do not work, and worse, cause additional harm. Right placed and sized investments support safety, recovery, resilience and well-being.

Our strategies work.

How We Do This

  1. We Catalog and Amplify stories of resilience, recovery, and well-being.

  2. We Curate actions that support safety, recovery and well-being

  3. We Advocate for investment in safety and health solutions rooted in  community, cultural strength, and wellbeing.

We are worthy of investment.

How You Can Support

  1. Share your story. We want to know how you define, experience, inspire, and support safety, recovery and well-being in your community.

  2. Share your actions. Let us know about individual, community, organizational events/projects/initiatives that support safety, recovery, and well-being. We would love to amplify and join you in the work.

  3. Advocate with us. Participate in specialized training and development workshops to join us in advocating for policy, practice, and budget alignment.
